Personal Communion:

PERSONAL COMMUNION:

Would you like to join me in Communion for Easter 2021?

Ordinance/ElementsPurposeScriptures
Lord’s SupperTo remember the Lord’s death by partaking of this most sacred ordnance.
To fellowship in His suffering by partaking of His body.
To show love and humility to one another
To give worship in a covenant relationship withJesus
To empower God’s people for service and to love
each other as Christ loved us.

“1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Matthew 26:26-28
Philippians 3:10
Isaiah 53:3-7
Luke 22:20
Acts 2:42-46″
Bread
Our Lord’s broken body secured our redemption
He is the Bread of Life
The Manna sent from God.

“John 6:35
Luke 22:19
John 6:48-51″
Wine
The wine represents the shed blood of Jesus . It flowed at Calvary for the cleansing and healing of our sins and afflictions.
The blood is the Spirit of Life. Jesus prevailed against the realm of evil to break the chains of sin.
“Hebrews 13:12
Luke 22:20
Revelation 1:5″

Please note:  This Communion Plan will help you to approach a personal and intimate time of Communion.  It must only be partaken of through a confession of faith.  It is not for those who are not born again.  “So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 11:27)

There are no set ways to do this Communion.  This is how I would approach a personal or small group observance.  It works for me.  Just follow Jesus’ example from the above Plan, it is very clear. The most important thing is the condition of the heart. “Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.” (1 Corinthians 11:28)

Personal Observations
Self PreparationPreparation of CommunionScriptures
– Decide when you will have Communion.
– Have a time of prayerful reflection before starting.
– Make your confessions.
– Forgive self and others.
– Give thanks for your healing.
“I use Matzo crackers for the bread. But any plain crackers or unsalted baked flour is fine.
A communion wine or just fruit drink is sufficient
I set candles to make it intimate.
Have your bible on hand.
The sacred approach to preparation and the state of the heart is key.”
“Matthew 6:9-13
Psalms 23:
1 Corinthians 11:27″
Read (Mark 14:22). “This is my body that was broken…)
Break the bread, raise it up and give thanks. Pray that you eat it worthily.
Have a moment of quiet reflections.
(Mark 14:23) Hold up the cup and give thanks. Pray to drink it worthily. Have a moment of quiet reflections.
‘Selah’ – is to pause. Practise being sensitive to the Spirit by pausing and listening.
Sing and give thanks. (Mark 14:26)
“When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.” (Matthew 26:30)
